Level 1 Workshop for CEO/Top Management

bizSAFE Level 1 will be replaced by TEWP course from 1st April 2024 onwards. We will continue to offer bizSAFE Level 2 and bizSAFE Level 4 courses.

Overview

This workshop covers the legal requirements of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary legislations and the legal obligations, responsibilities and liabilities of top management to protect their employees’ lives and well-being.

Section 48(1) of the Workplace Safety and Health Act holds top management responsible and to prove that they have exercised due diligence to prevent workplace accidents such as leadership and commitment to risk management and the reasonably practicable measures that an organisation must undertake to ensure the safety, health and security of its employees, visitors and contractors.

This course also touches on the new Code of Practice on Chief Executives and Board of Directors’ WSH Duties launched on 19 September 2022, that aids company directors in their efforts to discharge their duties and uphold WSH standards at their workplaces.

In line with the third revision of the Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management 2021, workplaces’ preparedness for terrorism threats, disease outbreaks and mental well-being and other considerations will be introduced.

SGSecure includes identifying potential workplace terror threats and implementing necessary risk control measures, planning of emergency evacuation routes and hiding locations in the workplaces. Risk communication, a requirement under WSH (Risk Management) Regulations, must include SGSecure tenets.

Upon successful completion of this 3-hour workshop, the CEO/Top Management will be awarded a certificate of attendance which the organisation can apply for bizSAFE Level 1 recognition for the organisation by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) and the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM).

Please note: If the top management changes or leaves your company, the newly appointed top management must attend the course or workshop as soon as possible to maintain your company’s bizSAFE status.
