Risk Management Refresher Course

Facilitated by a practising MOM-approved WSH Auditor experienced in Risk Management audits

Classroom Facilitated Training (4 hours)

Attended the bizSAFE Level 2 Course Some Years Ago? Here’s What Has Changed

If your bizSAFE Level 2 training was done a few years ago, this Risk Management refresher course can help — your risk management documentation may no longer meet current audit standards.

The WSH Risk Management Code of Practice (RMCP) was significantly revised in November 2021. Organisations whose RM Leaders and RA Leaders were trained under the old framework commonly struggle when audited for bizSAFE Level 3 — often without realising what has changed.

Common gaps that cause organisations to fail their RM audit:

  • Infectious disease outbreak preparedness not included in the Risk Register
  • Employee mental well-being risks not assessed or documented
  • Terrorist threat assessment missing from risk documentation
  • Risk matrix or control hierarchy not aligned with the RMCP 3rd Revision
  • Forms completed in the old format, not the updated structure

This 4-hour refresher is designed exactly for this situation — bringing your RM and RA Leaders up to date on current Risk Assessment (RA) documentation requirements.

Trained by a Practising RM Auditor

Our principal trainer personally conducts bizSAFE Level 3 Risk Management audits. In this refresher, you will learn exactly what auditors look for — and the specific documentation gaps that most commonly cause organisations to fail.

This is practical, audit-focused training, not just a re-run of the original course.

Overview

Under the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations, risk management must be conducted at all workplaces to identify workplace hazards, evaluate risks, and implement control measures.

The Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management (RMCP), 3rd Revision, was launched on 10 November 2021. It introduced significant new requirements covering workplace preparedness for infectious disease outbreaks, employee mental well-being, and terrorist threats — areas that were not part of earlier training frameworks.

This 4-hour course refreshes duty holders on their obligations under the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations and equips participants with the knowledge to conduct risk assessment and risk management in line with the current Code of Practice.

What You Will Be Able to Do After This Course

After completing this refresher, your RM/RA team will be able to:

  • Update your Risk Assessment Forms to comply with the RMCP 3rd Revision
  • Incorporate the three new risk categories introduced in 2021 into your documentation
  • Produce a Risk Register that meets BizSAFE Level 3 RM audit requirements
  • Identify and close gaps in your existing risk assessment documentation
  • Correctly complete all three required forms in the updated format

Objective

This course empowers participants with the knowledge to complete the three required forms in line with the latest Code of Practice on WSH Risk Management (3rd Revision, November 2021) and in compliance with the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations:

  • Inventory of Work Activities form
  • Risk Assessment Form
  • Risk Register Cover Sheet

This course is required for all RM Leaders of organisations, RA Leaders of departments, functions or locations, and all RA Members who need to refresh their knowledge of current risk assessment and risk control requirements.

Participants will work on their own real work scenarios in group exercises throughout the course. Participants from the same organisation will be grouped together for more focused and relevant discussion.

Who Should Attend?

This course is especially relevant for:

  • Organisations preparing for or renewing BizSAFE Level 3, where a Risk Management audit is required
  • RM Leaders and RA Leaders who attended BizSAFE Level 2 before 2021 and have not been updated on the revised Code of Practice
  • Any organisation whose risk assessment documentation was last reviewed more than 3 years ago
