Due to the new risk of COVID-19, many organisations globally have started incorporating COVID-19 risks into their Risk Management System as part of their Occupational Safety and Health System. In Singapore, biohazard that include virus is one of the hazard types identified in Risk Management Regulations as well as in Code of Practice for Risk Management. Many organisations in Singapore have also started to manage this new biohazard risk in accordance with the Risk Management Regulations and Code of Practice for WSH Risk Management.
To guide employers and occupiers to better prepare their workplaces for this risk, we have an additional COVID-19 Risk Assessment Workshop for those who are trained in Risk Management. Past participants of bizSAFE level 2 Risk Management course are encouraged to attend this bridging module (2 hours) to learn how to apply risk management in managing the highly infectious COVID-19 biohazard.
This will also help organisations in gaining confidence from customers and the public. A separate certificate will be issued only for those who have completed this workshop successfully.
Who Should Attend?
Heads of Department, Human Resource Directors/Managers and all Risk Management champions, Risk Management Leaders, Risk Assessment Leaders who have previously completed their bizSAFE level 2 course need to be refreshed on this new risk and incorporating COVID-19/biohazard risk identification, risk evaluation and risk controls into their Risk Assessment. It is recommended that the RM/RA teams attend together to brainstorm relevant risk assessment specific to their organisations during the group activity.
